Methyl octabromoether, also known as tetrabromobisphenol A-bis (2,3-dibromo (methyl) propyl) ether, is an important variety of brominated flame retardants. This product is widely used for flame retardancy of EPS and XPS boards, and is an excellent alternative to the discontinued flame retardant hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD).
